Powerful Ending!
gab-1471220 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Spoiler Alert! Good job, Patriot Brains. Way to break our hearts! It had to happen to give Liv personal stakes, but it was sad regardless. What am I talking about? The fatal ending where Blaine killed Lowell after he attempted to kill him when Liv bailed. Bradley James, as a guest star, created such a fond memory for this show. He made a believable love interest for Liv's character. As we near the season's conclusion, the show is picking things up as questions are getting closer to being answered. This episode also makes you aware that Blaine is a music snob or must have been in his past life. But hey, he gets points for being a Nirvana fan.

In this episode, Liv confronts Lowell about buying brains from Blaine. Lowell maintains his innocence and claims he did not know what Blaine was up to. Together, they formulate a plan to kill Blaine. The case of the week is interesting enough. It involves Liz eating a sniper brain which gives her courage, which also plays an important role in the episode's storyline. Major comes closer to finding out who Candyman really is. All signs point to Julien, Blaine's henchman and bodybuilding. Julien figures things out and gives Major a late-night house call but disappears after getting shot from Major. Major calls Clive, who worries that he may be suffering a mental breakdown. Finally, the cure search from Ravi proves frustrating as he got bit by one of the zombie rats, but fortunately nothing much may come from that.

Overall, this is definitely a good episode with a solid case of the week. However, the ending is what defines this episode. It needed to happen to really pull Liv into the game and stop Blaine before its too late. With the sequences of events, I wonder if and when both Major and Clive will learn of Liv's secret. After all, it is a small world.

Excellent Series ..Now I will recommend it to Friends
Unnizzz16 May 2015
Well I felt this series is the essence of warm bodies..Except for the part of zombies recovering...

It follows the basic concept... You get bitten you are a zombie... zombie needs brain and the villain sells them. They will have visions of the persons life when they eat the zombies.. The lead helps solve mystery saying that she is a psychic.. also she tries to kill the villain. On the other hand her ex tries to find some missing kids and this also ends up to a person known as the candy man again the villain..(not a spoiler :P)

But I love where the story line is taking it now.. Its not predictable and it will make you want more... The cast is awesome ..They handle their roles well.. Its funny and intense.. Sometimes a bit violent and gory... Its a Comedy/ Drama.. so people who likes to see Zombies fight crime.. Start watching.. Oh by the way there is an Indian in cast.. that's the reason why I started to watch in the first place.

the little guys

Lately, I enjoy the episodic actors more than the leaders. they are really good and it's a shame they get eliminated with no explanation or don't have proper scenes to evolve. for instance, I laughed so hard when that Doorman (Raresh DiMofte) whistled in his speech when he was trying to keep Julien away from the building, etc. anyway, max rating for the underrated.

Doorman

I couldn't see his face (Raresh DiMofte) but he delivered a funny short performance. The other guy was weak with no relevant reaction. I don't get it how you waste good actors on such small parts.

Writers, & their insufficient balls
rmarbertin29 December 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Slight spoiler, but watch 1st. This episode presented a moment where the antagonist could have been negated, but wasn't, because 'if i kill, i'm no better'. So lame. I see this as laziness on the writers' parts. It would have been thoroughly intriguing if in that moment the antagonist's head exploded, and the story's focus then shifted to the antagonist's sire-lings and their lack of stable food source. It would have been like a zombie version of a Homeland episode, by which I mean it could happen. But then you'd be committing to more substantial episodes, where this is supposed to be fun, right? Maybe I'm just a dynamics whore.

Goof report

Cobain's Jaguar Guitar was left handed. Not sure how to add a goof. I hope IMDb removes this and puts it in the correct place.

This episode ruined the series for me.

Warning: Spoilers
I fell in love with this show immediately. Great cast. Witty humor. Cute girl. Action. Mystery. Zombies. But this love was short-lived.

Why did Olivia not kill Blaine? She had just read a sniper mantra that meant you kill one person to save others. But somehow she forgot that and judged all killers as bad people. (I'm a doctor, not a killer.) So, because she chose not to kill him, her boyfriend was killed, and surely others will be killed soon.

The writers never should have put that sniper rifle in her hands. That scene never should have happened, because it made her weak and stupid. Olivia was a smart, strong woman, they should have stoked the fire of enmity between her and Blaine until she finally killed him or took him down. Then she is the hero and not the ineffectual, unimportant bystander she has become.

This is bad an so many levels
Ucurian17 September 2016
The mistake with the wrong gun has some other guy pointed out and he mad this point straight clear. I only add, that the police must have known the difference between a shell from a sniper rifle and a .38. But the most annoying points are the story-line about her ex and her giving up on shooting the evil bad guy. a) She is warned, that her ex would not give up the case, she knew that he is determine, but still she doesn't care and left him alone, even when she learned, that he is searching the web about brains. She knew that the evil bad guy must run some high end food shop and she didn't care about it. It's just unbelievable. b) She ate the brain of a sniper and the thought, that killing the evil bad guy would make her a killer is ridiculous, she knew that there would be no prison to hold him and that he would go on murdering innocent people. That's even more ridiculous. So this part leaves me frustrated, because the show started very well and could have been a real deal. But with such flaws they lost me.

Revolver used
keithnowak-4020513 June 2016
Warning: Spoilers
The handgun depicted doing the dirty deed is a .38 Revolver. Revolvers do not eject shell casings.

Major ignorance in development of solving the crime as no shell casing would have been ejected.

BTW, snipers are sent out in teams. One reason is to ensure the mission is accomplished. However, once a kill list has been confirmed, lone snipers can be sent out. Liv should had know that and had a backup. However Carlos Heathcock was sent on his own to take out Vietnam target, he expected a one way trip: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Hathcock

And the sniper motto: "One shot, one kill" Too much PC in this episode.

It got worse every Scene
vpj-9438513 May 2015
Warning: Spoilers
The "twisting end" was only topped by her dumb decision and conclusion...

SPOILER:

Not only the bad has to "live", the decision is typical for a woman, not to kill and become the killer, the NOT HUMAN killing humans... OMG!

On the winning side: she has to "live" with it and the stupid and annoying love story is finally over.

I was looking forward for her colleague to get the new bad character.

Now its all the flat lined, foreseeable content continuing.

One star for the title, one for the idea of the consciousness of zombies, and the third for getting me watching this series so long...
