Green screen nightmare

Warning: Spoilers
CHAINSAW MAIDENS FROM HELL is an absolutely diabolical comedy horror effort that was shot on digital video. It has all of the standard qualities associated with this genre, from cheesy overacting to laughable attempts at plotting, but the worst thing about this is the decision to shoot most of it on the fakest-looking green screen backdrop ever. It's reminiscent of a Troma movie but even worse, although Lloyd Kaufman has one of his reliable cameo roles. The concept of hell is represented by a couple of guys in red orc masks with armour and axes, while a white-suited Kane Hodder shows up and takes everything very seriously indeed. The bad acting from the lead actors is what finally sinks this one.

Heartfelt B-movie made with love, has some of the Troma spirit

CHAINSAW MAIDENS is perhaps a bit of a misnomer, since there's very little chainsaw in here. But there's tons of demons, campy green screen action and some memorable quotes ("it's against gun safety guidelines").

The plot is simple and not really why you're watching this anyway: A female chemistry nerd and the football quarterback team up to kick some demon ass.

I thought the two leads (football guy and chemistry girl) were likable. Their deliberate overacting was a times quite funny. All in all, this is the light-hearted kind of B-movie, not the dirty gritty one. There's not a lot of gore, but you get the sense that people had fun making this film.

On the technical side, there's a few things that they could've done better... the camera-work is really boring (and the use of green screen excessive), and the sound is not well balanced at all. That said, if you like B-movies, give this one a try!
