Storyline

SHOOTER is USA Network's new conspiracy thriller based on the best-selling novel "Point of Impact" by Stephen Hunter, and the 2007 Paramount film starring Mark Wahlberg. Starring Ryan Phillippe, the series follows the journey of Bob Lee Swagger, a highly-decorated veteran who is coaxed back into action to prevent a plot to kill the President. When Swagger's former commanding officer Isaac Johnson solicits his expertise in a clandestine operation, Swagger discovers that he is has been framed and must do everything in his power to protect his family and clear his name.

Mark Wahlberg will be a producer on this series. He played the title role in the 2007 original film (of the same name). Ryan Phillippe and Omar Epps have been cast as protagonist Bob Lee Swagger and antagonist Isaac Johnson, respectively. Even though Mark Wahlberg is older, his successor Ryan Phillippe is the oldest actor to play Bob Lee Swagger at 42 years old. Mark Wahlberg was 35 at the time of filming the movie the show is based on. Danny Glover was 61 at the time of filming the movie while his successor Omar Epps is 43 years old, making him (Omar) the youngest actor to play Isaac Johnson.

Promising, has potential, but still early to say to be good.

This seems to be promising. A little of "the contractor, with Wesley Snipes", a bit of "murder at 1600", and other similar movies have been set on the stage, but nevertheless this is now a series, a TV show and it can go into a interesting direction. Although it is hard to say after the first plot, how it really will end up. Anyhow, I will wait for the next show and see if it is worthy my higher scores. One at last, there are a view top shows out there, meaning top writing, acting, scenery, music, etc. (some like Banshee, although it might be not everybody's genre), anyway, this first show is a little poor on these parts, but as I said it has the potential to become much better. We will see.
