Sex & Nudity

  • Not really any sex just one or two scenes but not explicit just shows kissing and no nudity
  • 2 men (Chad & Dr. Hot) are naked in the shower. They cleverly hide their private parts but they also stand in the shower together naked (no nudity) talking about the size of their man parts.
  • Contains occasional verbal sexual references and infrequent sex scenes that are visually depicted with restraint.
  • Verbal references are made to transgressive sexual acts (such as bestiality and necrophilia), as well as erections, group sex, orgasms and sexual violence. Most of these references are made in jest and are not explicit in their description.

Violence & Gore

  • Very gory for a PG-13 show.
  • A masked character has a chainsaw brought down onto their neck, which cuts through it and decapitates them.
  • In an episode, a character's insides can be seen after a bloody kill off camera.
  • Contains moments of moderate to strong violence and gore throughout the series.
  • In at least two instances, characters suffer from severe burns with graphic detail of the impact that these burns have had on their skin.
  • Characters are attacked with chainsaws, with several characters suffering from injuries or even death. In one instance, a character's arms are amputated with a chainsaw, albeit in an unrealistic fashion, harking to a similar scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. In some instances, characters are decapitated, with blood spray depicted onscreen. The aftermath of these decapitations, however, aren't depicted in any detail. There's one instance in which a character is decapitated, depicted with their head separating from their neck, which flies across the corridor in slow motion.
  • Characters are often stabbed, however, any stabbings are depicted with restraint, and any blood is at least partially obscured due to low lighting. In one episode, a character is slashed repeatedly, with deep wounds and blood spray depicted in the scene.
  • A recurring flashback portrays a character in postpartum (with blood depicted as a result of childbirth).
  • The second season contains several strong surgical procedures and horror that may cause distress, nausea and/or discomfort in some viewers.

Profanity

  • Contains mild coarse language throughout the series, including "pissed", "bitch", "son of a bitch" as well as euphemisms for stronger terms (such as "freaking") and innuendo involving terms such as "pussy" and "dick".
  • Also includes milder terms, such as "ass", "bastard", "slut", "whore" and "suck it".

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Contains infrequent use of soft drugs (i.e. marijuana).
  • Characters are often seen drinking casually. Use of alcohol is usually inconsequential to the narrative.
  • References to illicit drugs are usually incidental.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • while the show is pretty gory at times, it's mostly comedic than scary.
  • Contains frequent scenes of threat and violence. As Scream Queens is a U.S. network show, horror elements and acts of violence are generally handled with restraint, and the overall comic tone of the series generally alleviates the severity of the show's more violent scenes.
