The Unbreakable Peggy

Only one more week to go and Agent Carter is turning out to be one of the better shows this year. This week picked up right where we left off last week with Peggy being taken to SSR. It was fun to see each member of the station try and pick apart a potential weakness of Peggy, but no one succeeded. We also finally got to see exactly what Leviathan might be and the possible plans. It was by far the creepiest episode of the series so far, and probably the best.

Not that we needed to see Dr. Ivchenko's abilities again, but I guess the opening scene did mirror Dooley's ultimate demise. But wow, do his powers come off disturbing and creepy or what? This is definitely the type of villain I can see Captain America taking down. Speaking of him, he was mentioned a few times again this week. I have never felt like they have shoehorned his name into the episodes, but this week felt especially cheesy when Peggy referenced him.

I was really glad to see Jarvis come back and 'save' her. But it pleased me even more to see that the SSR have faith in Peggy finally. She has done nothing but great things for them so the return was needed. This show has had such a great array of female characters. Lyndsay Fonseca was noticeably absent this week, but it was nice to see Dottie take on a bigger role. Dottie's stair scene was incredibly shot. I was amazed with the stunts and it was very reminiscent of Black Widow in Cap 2. But the major event this week was Dooley's death and the theater scene. The gas that made everyone fight was very Kingsman: The Secret Service like. But by far more creepy. Next week is the season finale, and I absolutely can't wait.

+Can't break Carter

+Leviathan unfolds

+Dottie takes center stage

+Creepy Ivchenko

-Rehashed Ivchenko powers scene

-Cheesy Cap talk

The Girl on the Pedestal

Things are beginning to ramp up. Leviathan's plan are coming to fruition and Carter is in custody.

Her scenes in the interrogation room with Dooley, Thompson and Sousa is amazing. They each have their own way of doing it too and it wasn't what we would be expecting. Sousa is angry, Thompson is confused and Dooley is impressed, which is basically the opposite of their relationship to Carter before this episode. And in all of their attempts, Carter keeps her cool and proves to the audience that she, no doubt, is the best agent they have.

Ivchenko is growing on me with becoming a charming and interesting villain. In both of his mind controls uses over Dooley and the Russian in the opening, he gave off a sense of soothing and chilling. Somehow being able to calm you and give you a sense of normalcy while also being super creepy.

Of course, I have to talk about Dottie, who continues to be so intriguing. Her escape from the SSR agents was incredible and reminiscent of Natasha Romanoff so there is no doubt in my mind that she was one of the first Black Widows.

However, some of the evidence that the SSR comes up with against Peggy doesn't really make sense, for example, why she would be working with the Russians, and why she would be the one to kill Krzeminski. Also, how they didn't think that Yauch having a drink, getting run over by a truck and in the middle of the day no less, was not suspicious. Still just a minor annoyance in a wonderful episode.

+ Atwell's performance + Dottie + Ivchenko + Interrogation Scene - SSR's reaction to Yauch and there lack of evidence against Carter

Final Score: 9.2/10

Warning: Spoilers
Thrilling episode 7 with big twists and dedicated acting. The outcomes are already not what I expected and the antagonists shouldn't fool and get away like that; Many plot holes and too few eyes on the "bad guys".

Say Focus and I'll make you swallow your ring.
