Coulson makes a comment in this episode that proves he SHOULD be the director.
He says, 'It's not us vs them anymore Fitz, I haven't always made the right call'. Well no one in war always makes the right call. But being the Director of Shield isn't about making the right call every time. It's about his character, as a person. And Phil has character in spades. That was why I was really confused at how quickly everyone turned on him. To flip flop so easily? Especially May. How many times did she say she has his back? Only to get angry at him for keeping secrets, THAT HE NEEDED TO KEEP? What May should have said, is 'I have your back, until I don't agree with you'. Well maybe if you were Director, May, you wouldn't like people you consider to be friends throwing a tantrum because you have secrets.
And then there's Mack. His speech at the end left me wanting him gone. 'I can't be in (insert any organization) if people like you are running it'.
Damn, I thought that way of thinking went out in the 60's.
Not a good look Mack, not good at all
