The plot thickens

The pines twins delve deeper into the mysteries of gravity falls to find that true to the show's nature things are not as they seem. The reveal of McGucket as an assistant researcher to the author is a great reveal and the direction of mcgucket's character after this episode is handled very well. The bonus scenes with stan and the portal are also great to see. Especially because of the rick and morty crossover.

This episode is really nice. One of the best of this season. Interesting and mysterious everything you need.

Heavy on plot, light on jokes

Season 2 is more plot heavy than season 1, and this episode is a prime example of that. Still really good.
