The fake boyfriend/girlfriend falling for each other subplot has been done to death, however Space Dandy takes this and completely rewrites the script!
With the over the top action that Space Dandy is known for, you may feel that a romantic plot would have no room, however you'd be wrong. The way Dandy and his fake Girlfriend Scarlet develop as characters seem to hit home with the realistic development of affection in a completely unrealistic and animated world.
Something about this episode really seemed to hit home. Maybe it depends on your own personal experiences or feelings, however Space Dandy manages to do in under 30 minutes, what most movies with a similar plot fail to do in 2 hours. It makes you wonder about your own life and taking the opportunities before it's too late.
Maybe I'm going too deep, but this is quite possibly my favorite episode of any anime, or even TV show. Something about it resonated with me and had an impact that I never thought an animation would give me.
Also I must note that the song "I'm Losing You" by BTB (Pan Pacific Playa) that plays near the end of the episode perfectly captures the entire episodes plot.
