The short is a tribute to the Stella Adler Academy of Acting - Los Angeles, and the cast consists solely of alumni, students, and faculty of the school.
Most of the character names refer to people associated with Stella Adler Academy of Acting Los Angeles:
- Milton Justice is a former acting teacher and stage director at Stella Adler LA, an Academy Award and Emmy winning producer, and a former student of Stella Adler.
- Timothy McNeil is an acting teacher and stage director at Stella Adler LA, a playwright, a filmmaker, and a former student of Stella Adler.
- John Jack Rodgers {"J.J.") is the executive director at Stella Adler LA and a former student of Stella Adler.
- "Sensei Adler" refers to actress and acclaimed acting teacher Stella Adler, whom the school was named after.
- "Crystal Petrovski" refers to Chris Petrovski, actor, Stella Adler LA alumnus, and protégé of Milton Justice.
- Stan Harrington is an Australian American actor, filmmaker, and faculty member of Stella Adler - Los Angeles.
Originally conceived by Michael Swinehart (who was at the time a student at Stella Adler Academy) as a fake movie trailer called "Justice 2," inspired by acting teacher Milton Justice, with either him playing a "bad-ass" version of himself or student Akende Munalula portraying him as a "Shaft"-like character. The real Milton Justice declined to participate. Teacher Timothy McNeil was also asked to play himself (as Justice's sidekick), but turned it down as well. The role of "McNeil" wasn't cast until after the first day of shooting, when Swinehart contacted student Stephen Sitkowski late at night about filling in for the part the following morning. During the shoot, the basic idea was expanded into a short film.
Shot in 3 days during a school break at Stella Adler - Los Angeles, with no budget, on a Samsung pocket camcorder, with no additional equipment.
