After School Special for Adults
chron11 August 2019
The plot idea is a good premise. There are a lot of pressures on aspiring actresses, and this is a cautionary tale on one of the choices that can make it easier. Unfortunately, the implementation was flawed. Seriously flawed.

The acting from the leads were ok, but broke down in some scenes. The acting from the secondary players was consistently weak. The direction was film student quality. There are too many voice-overs, instead of telling the story though actual acting.

This isn't the worst movie I have seen. I did make it through the end.

I don't love to pan an indie, but
seat-filler20 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
In the interest of a reliable rating system , I feel compelled to call BS on *at least* most (almost all) of the stars on this this movie I found on Prime. My God: it would be a bad B movie, except those usually know what they are and have a sense of kitch. This would be a C- movie. Underneath the after school specials. The script. The two leads: sugar baby and sugar daddy...I kind of can't say more. See for yourself.

Annoyingly, the film gets a couple of things right: the girl is extremely boring, very young-looking, with naturally beautiful and healthy skin, a terrific bikini figure, with no extra fat anywhere and an especially beautiful mouth and teeth. It is believable that she knows she's tall, fit and lovely and came to "make it" with the support of upper middle class parents who "believe in her".

What's maddening are the glaring inconsistencies: she lives alone in a perfect apartment, has no side job...but she takes the bus. Girls that look like that don't take the bus. If they have to, they aren't in their underwear. With that apartment, no roommates and no job, those parents would be renting a car or she'd be taking taxis. She's clearly not a trained artist-one gets the idea that she may have been a student athlete and skipped college to model. Yet: she's extremely shy, stiff and hung up about modeling work. Which is weird.

She accepts the vague invitation to become a mistress wholeheartedly-going to a "date" in a bikini and giving him the full-on boyfriend experience without even discussing figures. Little miss prim. Then we learn it's $10,000 a month. "No way" to that. Then we learn she finds it sexually gratifying and she had feelings for him and wants to go bring her parents on vacation with them. And she stops auditioning and starts doing coke with her younger friends. So: yeah...this does speak to a certain youthful directionless. That part does seem legit.

So: we're halfway through the movie now, and there hasn't been a good scene yet. She comes home and finds the old guy in the hot tub with the most randomly downmarket hooker with whom he decides to spring a left field threesome. Our heroine is appalled. The hooker leaves. Then they squabble, and so the guy leaves the her alone in his mansion?

This is where I had to hit pause and rate. Really. I need to prevent others from wasting their time. I am going to finish it, just so I can be sure I didn't make some massive error and every bit of this thing turns around. I do not think it's possible, but I'll take on for the team, here.

I honestly wish the best for everyone involved...I am sorry that I criticized an indie, but the rating is so extremely misleading that I feel compelled to help bring a little integrity back to the forum.

An indie not a studio film
benhow323y793248 October 2019
If you expect to see an A List actor giving his Oscar performance you are not in the right place. But if you are looking for a good story in an independent film with some unknown actors, then that is what you will get. I liked the fact that the performances came raw, the fact that is set in LA but we don't really get where the main actress is based on the accent. This is something that gives even more authenticity as I have lived in LA and everybody is from all around. I liked the movie and I won't get into any spoilers and I won't say I recommended it or not. What I like, other viewer might not and vice versa. Everybody with their own tastes, but I can tell you that you can get entertained with a true story by unknown actors. Cheers.

What?
Deb-ABQ2 November 2019
How on earth this movie is currently rated as an 8 I do not know. This movie is unwatchable junk with no real plot. We watched for 30 minutes waiting for something to happen. Everyone is vaguely wooden like they are people who've only acted in few and now they are trying to make a real movie.

2 Stars for the Music
jezebelbetty9 May 2018
The lead character has no self-respect and no shame. The ending was awful. The only thing I liked about the movie was the music. In fact, I'd love to know the name of the song at an hour and five minutes in. Both Siri and Google were useless in this regard. The lyrics are something like this: When i tick tock home the hour is getting late I hope you understand Now don't get crazy, things are going great, it's just that I'm not your man I'm leaving now. This is a cruel place. It's time to make my stand. I'm heading west to the USA to get some California sand. ...go back home to that lonesome road I'm moving quick. This is the human race. I won't be left behind. It isn't hard to let it slip away. I think I'm a casualty of time. I'll be back. I ain't go no doubt. Baby I won't even care. I'm heading west out to USA to get the California air. I'm going home.

THE PREVIOUS REVIEWS ARE "ALSO" BAD
b-2724711 May 2019
I watched this movie and found it extremely entertaining. The prior two reviewers must be "haters" for some reason. I don't understand it. Maybe I'm too shallow to hate this movie. I liked it a lot. Somehow they have a grudge against someone affiliated with this movie. Watch it. You'll probably like it. I'm giving a review...not a critique. There's a difference!
