Stars: Bruce WillisChristopher Meloni, Dave Bautista, Adrian Grenier, Johnathon Schaech, Lydia Hull, Tyler Jon Olson, Christopher Rob Bowen, Richie Chance, Chris Hill, Texas Battle, Tara Holt, Alyshia Ochse | Written by Michael Cody | Directed by Steven C. Miller

In 2015 Steven C. Miller, director of horror hits such as The Aggression Scale, Under the Bed and Submerged, made a move into the action genre with the Bruce Willis-featuring Extraction. With his latest film, Marauders, he re-teams with Willis for a film that tells the story of an untraceable group of elite bank robbers execute the perfect heist, making off with millions in cash whilst leaving a dead bank manager in their wake.

The FBI Agents investigating the robbery/homicide (Meloni, Bautista and Grenier) begin to uncover signs of corruption involving the bank’s owner (Willis) and his high power clients. As they dig deeper into the case, the Feds realise that appearances can be deceiving, »

To celebrate the release of his new film, Marauders in cinemas December 26th, we count down our top five Bruce Willis roles.

Die Hard

With over five blockbusters in the franchise and another rumoured in production, there is no doubt that Officer John McClane is one of the ultimate Bruce Willis roles. Starring alongside the late Alan Rickman as the frightfully villainous German terrorist Hans Gruber, NYPD Cop John (Willis) must go to any length to save his wife and the rest of her colleagues after they were taken hostage at their Christmas party at mega corporation Nakatomi. Bruce’s break out role has been widely regarded as the best action film of the 1980s and most definitely his most memorable role. »

Marauders Review

Author: Stefan Pape

Steven C. Miller’s Marauders abides by a formula we’ve seen countless times before, following every beat, and thriving in the tropes of the genre at hand. But it’s done so in such an affectionate way it’s hard to get too annoyed or frustrated by this endeavour – though believe me, it’s not easy.

The film begins with a bank heist, as a collective of nefarious, masked robbers undertake a brutal mission, stealing millions, and murdering a seemingly innocent bank manager in the process. FBI agent Montgomery (Christopher Meloni) is heading up the case, alongside his new partner Wells (Adrian Grenier) and the traditionalist, no-nonsense sidekick Stockwell (Dave Bautista) – only to find themselves drawn into a murky set of affairs posing far more questions than answers, somehow involving the shady businessman Hubert (Bruce Willis) who is connected to the crimes in that the supposed »

Film Review: ‘Marauders’

6 July 2016 8:23 PM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

It’s become a highly reliable cliché to open a thriller with a bank robbery in which the robbers wear really creepy masks — a gambit that kicked into high gear 25 years ago with “Point Break.” But let’s at least give “Marauders” some credit: The masks in this movie up the creep factor to a whole new level. They’re thick dark armor adorned with sketchy skulls that look as if they might have been drawn by Jean-Michel Basquiat. (If you were standing in a bank and someone showed up wearing this, you’d be scared.) The underworld fashion statement is matched, in this case, by a 21st-century criminal efficiency, with a smartphone’s computerized she-voice calmly explaining to everyone that if the police get called within 15 minutes, a bomb will go off. The hook of this sort of opener is that it gets you to look at those masks »

Marauders Review

1 July 2016 5:23 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

There’s something about Marauders that prevents this familiarly-generic crime thriller from becoming a grungy haze of bullets and backstabbing – Christopher Meloni. The long-time Law & Order: Svu star/two-time “crazy cook talking to a can of vegetables” does what he does best: broods, confronts and conjures vein-popping intensity like pulling a rabbit from a thug’s beanie.

Director Steven C. Miller charters familiar action-centric territory with atmospheric ease, while writers Chris Sivertson and Michael Cody draw up an inside-the-box thriller that might have tanked without Meloni leading the charge. You won’t be blown away by this VOD-bound mystery, but fans of good-cop-bad-cop suspense will enjoy tagging along with this serviceable squad of hometown “heroes.”

That, or you’ll chuckle at how “human golem” Dave Bautista looks like he’s about to bust out of every cheap FBI jumper.

Christopher Meloni stars as Special Agent Montgomery, a Cincinnati-based FBI operative »
