This episode explores the origins of NOT ONLY Jake's Parents; Joshua and Margaret but also comes to terms with a crucial explanation that either some had been waiting to the death for, or simply had come to accept. Nonetheless, this very episode comes to terms with a key component of nearly every episode; "How the heck does Jake Morph into almost anything?"
Much like Magicman I had simply accepted that it was just 'magic', despite the world of Adventure time cleverly coming up with subtly placed, ingeniously crafted explanations for such things, or things the audience would write off as "Utterly illogical but simply Adventure Timey".
Additionally, we rediscover Adventure Time's flare for light hearted crude references or just seemingly downright 'gross' things (such as Jake being conceived from a pimple left by a shape-shifting alien... from his father) and hence; why Joshua has his iconic fedora.
Overall, this episode expands on Joshua the dog's whimsical character whilst shedding light on Margaret for the first time, producing a wacky, weird and wonderful story of how Jake came into existence and how he got his powers!
