Karen Gillan might not be the most popular name in Hollywood right now but something tells me that 2017 is going to be a banner year for the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 actress. Gillan’s actually been in the news quite recently for defending her “skimpy” outfit she wore in Jumanji. According to the Daily Mail Now the 29-year-old redhead has spoken out about what appears to be the totally inappropriate jungle get up for her character Ruby Roundhouse in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, published Friday. ‘There’s a really valid reason why she’s wearing that,’ Karen insisted, adding,

Karen Gillan certainly has a busy year ahead of her, in addition to reprising her role of Nebula in the upcoming Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, she will also star alongside Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black and Kevin Hart in Jumanj, the spiritual sequel to the Robin Williams led film of the same name. Gillan is also making her directorial feature debut on an untitled film (previously called Tupperware... Read More »

Does Vin Diesel still want to make an Inhumans movie even though the property is now becoming a TV series? Will Batman ever pop up on Powerless? Can you guess which Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 character is blowing the minds of test screening audiences? Has Logan been officially rated by the MPAA yet? […]

Earlier this week we brought you some comments from Karen Gillan, who revealed that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will delve into the past of Nebula, and her complicated relationships with her father Thanos and sister Gamora. Now the actress has been chatting to THR about the hotly-anticipated Marvel sequel, reiterating that the theme of family will be a major element of the film, and how this will help us to see a more human side of the character.
“I’m so excited for people to see it! I just feel like it’s all of the best elements of the first one, just amplified. It’s even better – it’s funnier, the music’s even better … the second album is a blinder. It’s great. And in the first one everyone was being established. Now that that’s out of the way, you really get to delve into »

One of several surprises to come out of 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy was wrestler-turned-actor Dave Bautista’s excellent turn as the vengeful and brutally honest Drax the Destroyer, who garnered the love of fans around the world. Drax will be back in this year’s highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, with Bautista returning to fill his shoes, and if director James Gunn’s latest post on his Facebook page tells us anything, it’s that Drax will be a highlight once again.
To celebrate Bautista’s January 18th birthday, Gunn took to Facebook to share an image of him with a fully-costumed Bautista and a heartfelt message about his friend. Halfway through the post, however, Gunn begins teasing readers with audience reactions to Drax in test screenings and writes the following: “He’s been blowing people’s minds in our early screenings of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 »

Karen Gillan returns to the McU later this year when she reprises her role as Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but that’s not the last time we’ll see her. As she recently confirmed, Nebula will also factor into Avengers: Infinity War, and it’s not looking like a brief cameo. According to the Scottish actress, she’ll play a substantive part in Marvel’s upcoming gigantic team-up movie(s).
In a recent interview with THR (via ComicBookMovie.com) ahead of her untitled feature directorial debut, which began production earlier this week, Gillan discussed how Nebula factors into the highly-anticipated superhero sequel. Amongst other things, she’ll have serious “daddy issues.”

Doctor Who alum Karen Gillan definitely has her plate full. But like any talent in Hollywood, Gillan has spent years working hard to get that hard work, so that’s probably a prospect she meets with a lot of joy. Not only will she be directing her first film — the formerly-titled Tupperware Party (now currently untitled) — next year, but she’s also set to hit the big screen as an actor in the Marvel sequel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and the adventure sequel/reboot Jumanji this year.
Gillan made her Marvel debut in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy as Thanos’ badass daughter, Nebula — a mean-spirited woman with a real chip on her shoulder. We last saw the blue belle ripping a man from his spaceship and taking off, far away from the climax chronicled in the movie. As with ninety percent of the surviving Marvel characters, she was »

Karen Gillan recently confirmed that Nebula will return in Avengers: Infinity War, but first up for her is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. There, Nebula looks set to become a member of the team she fought in the first movie, though whether or not she'll stay loyal to Star-Lord and company remains to be seen! Asked in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter about how the sequel differs to the first instalment, the Scottish actress weighed in on the themes and where exactly we pick up with Nebula. "I’m so excited for people to see it! I just feel like it’s all of the best elements of the first one, just amplified. It’s even better – it’s funnier, the music’s even better … the second album is a blinder. It’s great. And in the first one everyone was being established. Now that that’s out of the way, »
Greg McLean‘s (Wolf Creek) new thriller, The Belko Experiment, turns co-workers into animals. Written by James Gunn — who is busy with post-production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 — the story is a dark, bloody, and violent office comedy. One day, the heads of a non-profit company decide they need 30 employees instead of 80, so they trap […]

In a year that sees her star in The Circle, the Jumanji remake and reprise her role as Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Scottish actress Karen Gillan is adding to an already rather tight schedule by embarking on her first feature behind the camera.
Shooting began earlier this week on her as-yet-untitled debut (which was called Tupperware Party... more on that later), being produced by Mt. Hollywood Films in association with Synchronicity Films, in which Gillan stars alongside Lee Pace (The Hobbit), Matthew Beard (An Education, The Imitation Game), Paul Higgins (In the Loop), Siobhan Redmond (Alice Through The Looking »

But the facility is also looking to attract indie filmmakers. Earlier this week, Guardians 2 director James Gunn unveiled the first look at Funko Pop and Dorbz' new Ego the Living Planet toys. With the May 5 release date getting closer by the day, we have even more merchandise photos, this time featuring upcoming Lego with characters such as Baby Groot and Ayesha, along with a few of the Ravagers. There are three Lego sets in total here, although it hasn't been confirmed when these sets will go on sale, or how much they will cost, but those details may be coming soon.
Bleeding Cool offers our first look at these sets, the first of which is called "Ayesha's Revenge," referring to Elizabeth Debicki's character Ayesha. Naturally, we can't tell from the Lego set why Ayesha is seeking revenge, but the set also includes Star-Lord, Yondu and Baby Groot mini-figures. Regardless of this "revenge" aspect of the Lego set, it doesn't »
Will we ever see Johnny Blaze appear on Agents of Shield? Do Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Lego sets key us into some action sequences in the movie? When will we get to see Harley Quinn on Gotham? Want to see a life-size version of The Lego Batman Movie Batmobile? Who should play the […]

One of the greatest things about the original Guardians of the Galaxy film lied in the well-rounded cast. Yes, they were all weird and quirky, but they were also all fun in their own unique way. Hardly anyone had the same main character, and even if you disagreed on the “best” character, there’s a good chance you understand why others like their own respective “best” characters.
Groot is a sweetheart, Rocket’s a broken soul, Star-Lord is a goofball, Gamora’s a badass, and Drax is perhaps the oddest being ever to walk onscreen in a Marvel movie. The character — played by Dave Bautista — is big and buff, and has some real dark Punisher-esque motivations, but his inability to understand figurative language gave him a humorous unexpected edge. You need look no farther than the “Nothing goes over my head” scene to see how amazing it works out on screen. »

Apparently, somewhere between rocking everyone's worlds with Guardians of The Galaxy for Marvel Studios, and getting Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2 ready for its upcoming May premiere, James Gunn managed to get another one of his scripts produced. This one flew totally under my radar.
And it looks fantastic!!
The Belko Experiment has an impressive cast that includes John Gallagher Jr. ("The Newsroom," 10 Cloverfield Lane), Tony Goldwyn ("Scandal"), John C. McGinley ("Stan Against Evil," "Scrubs"), Adria Arjona ("True Detective"), Josh Brener ("Silicon Valley") Melonie Diaz (Nothing Like The Holidays, Fruitvale Station), and Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy).
The Belko Experiment is a terrifying, provocative and at times hilarious thrill-ride that literally provokes the question; what does it take to survive at work?
I think I need to see this, »

We'll probably get a new look at Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 at some point in the next couple of months, but for the time being, some new toys have surfaced which may very well show off some key scenes from the highly anticipated sequel. As you can see below, these Lego sets show the Guardians battling Ayesha, a character we now know will have gold hair and skin just like in the comic books. They also show Rocket and Mantis taking on the Ravagers, while the Milano battling The Abilisk is probably the one action scene we know will most definitely be in the movie. No doubt the biggest draw, however, is the fact that two out of three of these come bundled with a tiny Baby Groot, a Lego minifigure which you're going to have to be very careful not to lose while you're building these. Starring Chris Pratt, »

The guys over at comicbook.com were able to get an exclusive with production designer Charles Wood, whose work for Marvel includes; Thor: The Dark World, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Doctor Strange, and the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War. While a few of these movies were not the best submissions by Marvel, all of them looked beautiful and two of them stick out in my mind -- Doctor Strange and Guardians Of The Galaxy. Both of these films had intricate and visually appealing sets, think of the Sanctum Sanctorum or the psychedlic ride through alternate dimension in Doctor Strange, and the interstellar prison or the Knowhere scene in GotG. He does kick arse work, and it was only logical that Marvel would hire him to Infinity War as well.
Wood was asked about the daunting task of creating the Infinity War world after he was handed the script for the forthcoming movie. »
