Brasserie Valentine is a stylish, funny film about love. About first dates, falling in love and love anniversaries. About love under pressure of daily grind and distrust. And lovingly prepared food. All in one evening on Valentine's Day.

Let me start off with saying that i've not read the book, so I'm not gonna judge this movie as an adaptation. But this movie is still awesome. The story of the movie is simple and very common, but well executed. The acting is great and very unexpected. Jeroen Van Koningsbrugge steals the show as a drug dealing husband going crazy. the music is awesome and very well placed. I can't wait to buy the soundtrack. My only complaints are the pacing and accents. pacing is slow sometimes and sometimes people aren't understandable because of their choice of words and accents. And the kids are a little bit underdeveloped too. but overall: It's an awesome dutch movie without spouses cheating on one another (dutch movies do that a lot).
