I think that maybe a 4 is even too high for this preposterous Brown family story and setting. Even before reading the stories about the fraud this family perpetrated upon Alaska and its television audience, I found myself amazed at just how phony this family really is. Their history as Alaskans is quite dubious and even their mannerisms are obviously beyond fake. They are more like hucksters than they are bush people, especially as compared to believable family stories as that of the Kilcher family outside Homer, Alaska or Tom Oar near the Yaak River in northwestern Montana. These are REAL people, the Browns are not. How the network at the Discovery Channel can keep a straight face while presenting this series to the public is beyond me.
