The first Part showcases the BBC at its very best, a great start to this three Part mini series features great acting, a clever script and some excellent production values. There is enough mystery, enough intrigue to have you if this is a straightforward thriller, or if something more supernatural is going on.
Tom is a baffling character, you wonder just what he's playing at, why did he want to get out of his house so badly, and what secret has he got hidden? Michael Palin of course is brilliant. Jodie Comer is great too, as is the lovely Rita May, who is always a joy to watch.
As it progresses it gets darker, and better, this is a great start to this unusual mini series. 8/10
