Storyline

Karl coaches Holly to perform one of his songs at the talent hunt. Georgia is to judge, but lets Lou and Sheila join her as jurors, but their gross bickering proves insufferable. Paul is furious when Brennan returns from his archive intrusion without even having glanced at the files, refusing to continue their cooperation. Stagefright makes cowardly Holly run off without singing a note. Terese keeps sympathizing with Lauren while bitching at Brad, for no actual reason, but when Matt insists on concerting, both couples agree to stop looking for the lost daughter. "Sometimes you gotta be cruel to be kind"

So, Brennan backs out of his arrangement with Paul. The show tries desperately to sell this as a moral stand, but in reality it's hypocrisy, since he's already done stuff just as bad off his own back, and he ends up indulging in a childish game of tit for tat with Paul that further undermines his perceived nobility.

The talent show plot line feels like a shaggy dog story without a punchline, it just fizzles out completely. It is saved though by the scene between Karl and Holly, who's getting cuter by the minute.

Brad and Lauren return to a bunch of misunderstandings that only seem to be there so they can put them in the trailers and try and convince the audience something important's happening.Actually something important does happen at the end, with the entrance of Paige via some sledgehammer subtle signposts, and it'll be intriguing to see how it ends up.
