One of the better 1 minute indie horror shorts
sbash222 September 2020
This is a very short scene between a father and his son and although it's a little rough around the edges, it still manages to produce a satisfying moment of horror worth watching. It's on YouTube so just search "Tuck Me In 2014".

Great for its length

It's nice to see a short that can get to the point so quickly.

An OK 1 minute short

Warning: Spoilers
"Tuck Me In" is a decent one minute horror short.

It's effectively creepy and it has a more than proper atmosphere, but at the same time, I got the feeling that the premise had the potential to be something a bit more complex than just a spooky clip. And while it's true that "brevity is the soul of wit", in my humble opinion the plot would have been benefited with a longer duration.

But then again, it seems that this short is an adaptation of tale that was published on an internet thread about horror stories written in one or two sentences, so I guess its extremely condensed length and ambiguous ending is part of the charm.

Pretty decent for the running time

Warning: Spoilers
"Tuck Me In" is a 60-second live action short film from 2014, so this really really brief watch will have its 5th anniversary in 2019, two years from now. It is a Spanish production in the English language by writer and director Ignacio F. Rodó and perhaps his most known work as of today. It's the story of a dad saying good night to his son, but something is different than usual. Or the director is trolling everybody and it is twins. Anyway, I expected a bit of a jump scare towards the end, but nope the film ends with as much harmony as it started. All in all, you can only do so much with a running time like that and greatness is impossible to achieve. Goodness, however, was achieved I would say and that's why I give this little movie a thumbs-up and recommend checking it out, especially if you like horror (à la Sandberg) about unseen dangers. Worth seeing.
