Before this two-parter, the characters and subjects covered in the stories have been slightly better than average for the genre. But this arc soared far above the others in a distressing, all-too-relatable tale of racism and injustice. Even more regrettably, the course of events seems even more valid as a cautionary tale in 2021 than when it aired 17 years ago.
