    I thought it was hokey

I am not a "railer against God", but I thought this movie was really cheesy in parts. Not only do most Christians not talk this way in ordinary conversation, but the entire emotional affair was so clearly obvious from the start. Paul was supposed to be a good man and husband, and he didn't even TRY to avoid temptation. Really? Invite the woman to your home to meet your family and work on stuff in the study!Show her some American hospitality! As for the woman who played his wife, I am glad she turned her life around, but I have to say that her appearance and demeanor doesn't reflect it. I had a hard time seeing past the sex kitten baby voice, the bleached blonde bed-head hair, the heavy makeup, fake eyelashes, fake tan, obvious lip fillers, and of course the ever present cross nestled between enhanced cleavage. Even her dress for renewing vows was on the tacky short side. I couldn't help but smirk every time she prayed. This probably makes me a bad person, I know. Don't even get me started on her friend! That over the top fakey, Christian manner and hokey accent. "It seems like we're talking' about......whispered in shame....INFIDELITY." I can see her using the exact same tone to say her neighbor is...wait for it....GAY. Shhhhh! Not in front of the children! Not as bad as Fireproof, not as good as Left Behind. Just...meh.

    Wonderful movie!

I listened to this movie on netflix early this am while doing edits on my latest book. It was very moving. I gave it a 10 out of 10 but I see that others have ranked it 5.4 average here on IMDb. I can only assume that once more non-Christians (what I call raillers against God) voted it down. I have to believe that the naysayers did not actually WATCH (or listen to) this movie, they just dissed it because it had a Christian theme. Oh well maybe the Mormons will turn out to be right, and after those anti-God folks die they will actually have another chance to come to God (though I doubt the Mormons are right). Good family movie for kids over say 14, who might learn from the message. Another successful David A.R. White movie! Praise God.

    Pure Flix Winner

Saw this on Netflix and was impressed. The message is there without being preachy and I took a lot away from this movie. Temptation, choices, and faith in God are the central themes. Since this is a faith based movie, it will contain biblical passages, bible, and moral lessons. The only gripe I have is Teri Copley. She has no talent and is out done by everyone in the movie. Her annoying voice reminded me of a porn star who grew old. Ted McGinley and David AR White turn in some credible performances here and keep the movie going. Fans of Courageous will recognize Kevin Downes as the film's antagonist. In the end, this is one of the better made Christian films out there and was good enough to be shown in Cinemas.

    When temptation comes

Successful cyberspace entrepreneur Ted McGinley is undergoing a crisis on many levels. He has a firm that specializes in computer security and he's got everything riding on a new program and a deal with a Brazilian conglomerate. When the Brazilian conglomerate sends the voluptuous Ana Ayora to do the negotiating he's got another crisis of a personal nature. By the way the beautiful Teri Copley is both wife and mother to his kids so it ain't like he's got Margaret Rutherford waiting at home for him.

I used to always like the line from My Fair Lady that with a little bit of luck, when temptation comes you give right in. But marital fidelity is a good thing, but is McGinley ever in angst. Ayora can ruin him professionally and personally.

The whole movie is really a bit much. Hormonal attraction is what it is and we all have different sex drives. Something that religion takes no account of because the concept wasn't known when major religions were founded.

I swear that part of the message is for companies to do business they ought to have their female employees dress and act like Jane Hathaway from The Beverly Hillbillies. And even Jane had her hormones, look at the lengths she went to make Jethro notice her.

Life is not as simplistic as this film would have it.

One of the better faith-based movies

Ted McGinley does a most convincing job in the lead role as Paul. The overall plot is good and the storyline is pretty much believable. I heartily agree, however, with another reviewer that the role of Paul's wife Beth was totally miscast. Neither Teri Copley's performance nor her persona was convincing or realistic. When one is fervently seeking God's face through prayer regarding a heart-wrenching issue, it is more likely to be on one's knees with head bowed, face in hands, rather than looking up at the ceiling with a cherubic facial glow. Also, given her age, as well as Ted's, their kids should have been much older - at least teens. As to singer Karen Peck, acting is definitely not her strong suit. Her role as Beth's friend was mostly distracting and purely perfunctory. All in all, this film is one of the better movies I've seen of the faith-based genre.
