The Necro Critic is in!
Gareth Van Camp aka The Necro Critic is a funny plus likable guy who really knows how to write funny reviews. But let's get into the show shall we?
This show has for reasons I don't understand a low star rating on IMDb and the show deserves more love than hate if you ask me. I mean yeah: His production values are not nearly on the same level as the AVGN or The Spoony Experiment but joke wise it's hilarious. You want some examples? Well here you have it:
*The Baby Geniuses Review has him screaming into his cat and what really sells it is the fact that the cats reaction is basically like: "It's alright. Just let it all out. I'm here with you." Just watch the review and you'll see it's even more funnier than how I just described it here. *In his Christmas Shoes review we get two funny moments:
**For one we got "ZIT!"
** The second is this little gem: "I guess it's okay if you compare it to the source material, but this movie has the worst source material this side of Twilight!"
*The cameos of Spoony and Linkara (YES REALLY!!!) are hilarious too. You can find those in his reviews to Sleepwalker and yet again: The Christmas Shoes.
Maybe people also vote this show down because of how this show is supposedly a NC-ripoff and that's nonsense because by that logic every reviewer show with an caustic critic would be a ripoff of the NC and hell: There was a time where people accused the Nostalgia Critic to be an AVGN ripoff and yet everyone doesn't live up to that accusation anymore.
Necro Critic's Baby Geniuses review came out in 2010 which was one year before NC's review on it.
Same goes for the Felix the Cat movie review. Necro reviewed this movie in 2011 and NC brought that review the exact same time. It's impossible for them both to rip off from each other because think about it: It takes several weeks to complete a review and both reviews couldn't be more different if you ask me.
The Necro Critic loves to review horror movies, video games and anime. Also some other stuff that he just likes but that's not the point.
The Necro Critic is an overall fun and enjoyable show and Gareth Van Camp really seems to have the heart in the right place and I always look forward to every new episode.
Plus: The Theme Song is just freaking awesome!
