While Halvar's Vikings cross a desert by camel, they are approached by a girl claiming to need protection against a gang of robbers, which they offer, then by another camel, carrying only her royal nurse, who explains it's brat princess Badoura, who ran from the palace because she was grounded. The princess already absconded, on the camel carrying the jar in which Halvar hid Vic. He inquires into her motives and suggests a reasonable alternative, but a sand storm takes priority. Meanwhile Halvar talks some educational sense into the strict palace governess.
