Storyline

A small group of film makers were inspired by the words of Shirley Douglas during the 2013 ACTRA Awards when she said "We need name recognition and somebody has to change it unless they want everyone to leave." We set out to find whether or not Canada has a Star System and what could be done to evolve it. Everyone that was interviewed ranged from Actors to Producers, Directors to Entertainment Lawyers, Publicists and fans of Canadian Film/TV not to mention everyone else in between. They all sent us on different paths and introduced us to others in the industry that shared our like-minded passion to ensure that Canada has a successful Star System. Brian Linehan was the original champion of the Canadian Star System but since his passing 10 years ago, there has not been someone as charismatic and passionate about the Star System to fill his shoes.
