Sex & Nudity

  • A woman wears a low shirt that exposes some cleavage.
  • A girl is shown in a bath, but the water obscures any detail.
  • There is reference to the myth of Oedipus.
  • During the opening theme song, a young woman (possibly high school age) is seen trimming her hair and it is implied she is nude from the waist up. Although no cleavage/breasts are visible, the camera noticeably pans over the skin above her chest before the character comes eye to eye with the viewer. She then makes a flirtatious expression at the camera.
  • Very little worth mentioning. A girl is briefly scene in a bath, no nudity is shown since water covers her body, nor is this intended to be done in a "fan servicey" way. The only mildly questionable thing in this category, is the appearance of the Sphinx painting. The painting displays non-sexual nudity, it is shown on very rare occasions and it is only for a few seconds each time. Keep in mind, the painting is the type of thing you would see in a museum and in no way comes off as being arousing.

Violence & Gore

  • It is important to note that the terrorists only blow up buildings that are void of people, so only property damage results and no deaths. Because of this, the body count of the show is surprisingly low, being a total of only four or five people.

Profanity

  • Uses of damn, hell and bastard in the English dub. "Bullshit" and "Son of a Bitch" are said once.
  • Fairly tame language in the official English subtitles. Some uses of "damn", "hell, and "bastard". A lot of episodes, don't have these words used at all. I haven't seen much of the English dub, and thus I don't know how much profanity it contains.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Shibazaki is sometimes shown smoking.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The attack in the first episode is visually reminiscent of the 9/11 attacks, which will likely make some viewers feel uneasy.
  • Some of the destruction done to the cities could disturb or frighten viewers. The ending is sad and a bit depressing.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • This show involves terrorism and thus violence is present. It is never graphic, nor does it appear every single episode, but it's still somewhat frequent. Most of these involve larger scale explosions such as buildings exploding with people shown screaming and running away. Some scenes involve some fairly intense shoot outs, none are gory, at least two scenes show blood. One depicts a brief flash of several people surrounding a crime scene, we see some blood on the floor. In the final episode, one character is shown running away and is then shot at in the character's upper shoulder, he drops dead. His body has a bullet wound and some blood is shown.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • In one of the series's final scenes, both main characters die. One is shot straight through the heart (blood is shown), and the other by an unknown disease.
