Trivia

Driving in Northern Virginia and Washington D.C. can be a nightmare. However in the 1980's, "Metro" the Washington D.C./Northern Virginia/Maryland subway system was under construction. The traffic jams created then were of Biblical proportion. Seeing the actors scoot around town in their cars unimpeded and keeping to precise schedules would have been impossible. The allowance for artistic license and suspension of disbelief is advised for those who drove through city during the Reagan administration. See more »

Goofs

Nina asks Oleg whether he was a Pioneer, and he says he was not. Unlike the Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts organizations in the US, all Soviet children joined the Pioneers at age 10 (in 3rd grade)-membership was not in practice voluntary. The only reason a child would not join the Pioneers would be for religious reasons (e.g., if one's faith prevented one from taking an oath). This was extremely uncommon, since atheism was the norm. Since Oleg is supposed to be the son of a high-level functionary, his father would almost certainly be a member of the Communist Party, which required its members to be atheists. Thus, he would have had to have been a Pioneer, and he would have been a member of the Komsomol and later the Communist Party, as well. See more »

Solid episode.
2 May 2014 | by (Winnipeg) – See all my reviews

A solid episode! The Jennings are still assassinating, using deception for the communist cause. The head of the Russian embassy meets his F B I counterpart. Stan Beeman is onto the K G B's plan to steal USA stealth secrets. A navy seal is looking for some Jennings payback. All the sub- stories are bubbling into a tumultuous series of conflicts. Well written, directed, and acted. I found Yousaf a raw, and exciting episode, which creates an intense immersion into the spy game of the 1980's cold war. Mrs. Jennings does not seem to have any qualms about committing murder whereas her husband is always trying to find ways out of doing the deed. I can not wait for next week. Something has to give but who and what?
