At the Yukon Wildlife Preserve, Dr. Oakley helps a young caribou with fast-growing, giant warts on his face and a yearling mountain goat with a critically mangled foot. At All Paws Clinic, a beloved dog and his devoted owner wait to hear whether a growth near his tail is cancerous, a horse comes in for acupuncture treatment and a tiny ferret undergoes a delicate surgery for bladder stones.

In Alaska's backcountry, Dr. Oakley must castrate a yak bull named Drifter who isn't taking to the anesthesia. Then, she has to carefully sedate an ailing lynx, with the challenge of a very distracting second cat nearby. Later, Dr. Oakley helps a 3-month-old puppy named Honey who was hit by a car and may need leg amputation and a friend's adopted horse named Socks with a shocking deformity.
