Goofs

In the recording of Bracken that Montgomery left for Beckett, the conversation is exclusively between Montgomery and Bracken. But as established in Castle: Knockout, Montgomery was only a rookie during the Joe Pulgatti/Bob Armen incident; it seems unlikely that two veterans like Raglan and McCallister would choose a new guy to speak for them, especially to the ADA who's been blackmailing them about the crime for which he not only has the ability to prosecute them at any time he chooses, but is heard saying outright he's more than willing to do so. Quotes

Richard Castle: I'm telling you, I don't know where she went.
Captain Marcus Donovan: You were just in the break room with Detective Beckett. What did she say to you before she fled?
Richard Castle: That she didn't kill Vulcan Simmons.
Captain Marcus Donovan: You understand this woman is now the target of a manhunt? And she's most likely a murderer?
Richard Castle: I can't help you.
Captain Marcus Donovan: [turning to Gates] I want him gone. He has no business in this precinct. Not while we're conducting this investigation.
Captain Victoria Gates: I'm afraid he's right, Mr. Castle. You're gonna have to leave.
Richard Castle: Gladly.

ridiculous
15 November 2016 | by See all my reviews

I love the show, but this episode was beyond ridiculous. I can accept that they had to do some ret-conning in order to bring that particular affair to a close. But there was no need for the many many conjectures they made to be so extremely far-fetched. Not even a psychic could have come up with this stuff. A lot of very lazy writing must have gone into this - plus a need to rush things (perhaps certain recurring characters' contracts were up and they did not want to renew them beyond season 6??). All this conjecture was made worse by them cramming a lot of plot development into 40 minutes. There was more than enough plot here to do a two-parter that would have been decently paced and would have given the plot and the twists and "discoveries" the necessary room to breathe. Yet, they choose not to do this as a two-parter. Perhaps they did not have the time because they were getting too close to the end of the season??
