Storyline

Leonard and Penny's good news that they are engaged and Raj's that he has had sex with Emily are tempered by Howard and Bernadette's problem of not being able to keep any professional help to take care of his mother, and Sheldon's that the university will not let him change his area of research from string theory to inflationary cosmology, as string theory was the reason they hired him and the area for which he has received all his grants. What's worse for Sheldon, who cannot handle change that is not initiated by him, is that Leonard and Penny contemplate a living situation that may not include him, while Amy tries to capitalize on that fact for her own benefit. And a place that Sheldon considers a sanctuary is temporarily out of commission, which may be indirectly a benefit for Howard and Bernadette. With all these changes in his life, Sheldon may have some tough choices to make, all of which, in his mind, are less desirable that what had been his life up to this point. Written by Huggo

Crazy Credits

CHUCK LORRE PRODUCTIONS, #459

Thank you for watching. We don't take your support for granted. We know it must be earned. Your time and attention have real, quantifiable value. That means when you choose to give them to us, we, in turn, must return something to you of equal or greater value. And what is that something? Well, if we were making a drama, your time and attention would likely be repaid with excitement, suspense and perhaps some insight into the human condition. If we were in the cable news business, the fair exchange would be with information about current events plus the steady drip of adrenaline caused by fear and anger. Were we making pornography, the transaction would involve sexual arousal and an opportunity to interact with the program. But we make comedy, so our only hope of repaying you for your time and attention is with laughter. We are constantly aware that if you are not provided with a reasonable amount of mirth, we have not fulfilled our side of the bargain and you will, in all likelihood, take your business elsewhere. See you in the fall. Enjoy the summer reruns, which, lacking the element of surprise, offer thirty percent less mirth. Feel free to watch them half- heartedly. See more »

Broken tracks straight ahead
21 May 2014 | by (India) – See all my reviews

A lot of things happened after season 7 and none of them was good. This season started with couple of good episode but inevitably went completely offtrack. Howard's character is the most boring character of all now he is nothing more than 2 - 3 lines every episode and not a single one of them is funny same thing goes for Amy and Bernadette, Penny is controlling everyone and everything and Sheldon is stuck in an infinite loop of confusion.Every episode makes me hate Penny more and more. Even worst there are no emotions now Professor Proton dies not a single character sad,Sheldon has lost his focus nobody cares, Comic store burned down who gives a s@#t. where is Sheldon and Amy's relationship going? Nowhere its just stuck and severely annoying. This show was all about fanboys and nerds and their quirkiness, science stuff comic books and video games. I agree that there must be some changes but it doesn't means it should be thrown out of the window just for a change. I don't know how we will handle this relationship crap for 3 more years. It should be known as Chuck Lorre's signature style of writing to make shows endless till actors start to leave this show. ( Ahem... just like two and a half men ) this show used to be an ocean of laughs now its just a muddy puddle of sadness. This is a serious request of a former Hardcore TBBT fan to Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady please do not take this show on path of two and a half men there is noting but train wreck ahead.
