Secondary Plot More Interesting Than Primary One
18 March 2014 | by (Australia) – See all my reviews

This episode of American Dad is a tale of two halves.

The primary plot encompasses Stan and Francine meeting the eponymous naughty stewardesses. Nothing in this plot stream works as all of the gags fall flat, especially those involving the suspected bombing.

Comparatively however, the subplot involving Steve and Roger is sublime. The face swapping scene ("How can you still be alive?!") is grotesque in the extreme but leads to the pay-off of the bleeding, faceless coach seen held captive behind his office door. The sequence of Steve being confused as the father of his pregnant amour is also well handled.

I think the producers of this show are running out of ideas with generally one good idea per episode and a further poorly handled accompanying plot. Nevertheless this was a worthy half hour.
