Outstanding documentary regarding writer Norman Lear, detailing his social activism and use of comedy in highlighting the major social issues of the day. From his groundbreaking All in the Family to Maude, Good Times, The Jeffersons and others, Lear depicted social problems in a comic way; however, reinforcing through comedy the destructive nature of prejudice and other social ills.

I liked when he said that when you hit 90 years of age, you don't change, but rather it's the people around you who do.

The documentary brings out his continuous child-like attitudes even in adulthood.

His personal life, especially his father's incarceration, had quite an effect on him throughout his life.
