The ultimate homemade horror film
26 February 2017 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

HOUSE OF PARANORMAL is a homemade horror film shot in New Jersey by Jeff Profitt (great name for a film-maker) who writes and directs as well as takes the lead role. As well he might, because for 90% of the running time this "film" consists of Profitt wandering around his supposedly haunted house, checking out weird noses and other inexplicable things. It's the ultimate shoot-it-yourself type of horror film but one that's absolutely devoid of incident and about far from the feel of a 'proper' movie as it gets.

For the other 10% of the running time, there's a ghostly chap in a fright mask (which you can tell is also played by Profitt as it's never in the same shot as him) and a little padding with a creepy neighbour. The whole thing is a waste of time and you wonder just what the purpose of it all is.
