Christopher Jefferies might be regarded as an eccentric. A bit weird with his comb over and peculiar mannerisms. He was a semi retired teacher.

In 2010 when a young woman lived in the housing complex that Jefferies also resided in went missing. Jefferies was arrested for her murder.

As Jefferies lawyer tells him, the police have no evidence and he has only seems to have been arrested because he comes across as a bit odd.

The first episode is very much Jefferies experience of being interrogated by the police. The trial by media comes later as Jefferies reads about what was written about him in the press.

I remember vaguely the kind of stories written about him, especially something about a blue rinse he had.

Jason Watkins very much inhibits Jefferies which is helped by the comb over.
