Why move houses to just tear them down

I used to enjoy the original premise of the show when they moved a house and upgraded it to resale it and move it to someone's property. Now they buy a house cut half of it off to move it and then double the size when it's on the new permanent lot. I don't understand the affliction with converting everything to 10 foot ceilings either. Is there a purpose for this? And then there's the supposed cost of moving the purchased house to the final location. They buy the house for a thousand bucks, spend 15-18 thousand moving it and then tear it all down to put 10 foot walls in it. The episode I watched today they put a complete sub floor in to move a $325 house, spent $16,700 to move it and then totally tore it down to increase the size and again convert it to 10 foot ceilings. Nothing from the original home ended up being used. What's the point of moving it if you're not going to make use of it? Is there some tax advantage by doing this? I suppose it has to fall into the name of the show Texas Flip & Move. They should change the name of the show to "I build houses in Texas." I still watch the show but the premise has taken a 180 from the original.

Fascinating & Funny

Stumbled onto this series a few months ago & really enjoy it! The transformations these people make are SO impressive! I also enjoy the many interesting personalities that do such hard work. What really struck me was Randy's incredible sense of style! He comes across as a blue-collar fella but watch how he stages many of his homes! Delicate details. elegant items & decor, and refined color schemes! Love the way these folks interact and help each other out. Great show! Hard working, entrepreneurial, risk taking Americans with a vision that sells! God bless you all!

I love this show. It's light, funny and entertaining. Some people need to take a chill pill and just enjoy it for what it is.

Painful

I've now sat through 4 episodes & noticed a pattern.... the constant repeating the plan & patting each other on the back for their great idea and my pure humiliation for having no more of an interesting life that I've spent 4 hours watching this.

It's fun

Sure, most of the show is milquetoast when compared to other reality shows; there is no pregnant teenager, no modelesque bachelor looking for one night stand, no rich housewife living life on the edge. It's good clean TV that is a nice break from the other nonsense.

Sure, the bulk of it is scripted. But I have little doubt the cast is quite capable of flipping a house. Maybe not as clean and easy as it looks. But their talent is genuine.

FAKE & BORING

The show is so fake it's painful to watch. It's trying to pass for reality tv and it fails, grandly. It's so boring as well. Most of the show is filled with nonsense palaver, ugh! This is the worst house flipping show I've ever seen.

I agree with bennett's review below. Almost exactly what I'd say. They are making these houses HUGE. I can't imagine a master bedroom as big as they're making them. All that space is just more to clean. And, no way do I want 10' ceilings in my house. That said, I'm watching some episodes from the first season, and thank goodness they got rid of the 'The Young Guns.' They just didn't fit with everyone else. The folks they have on there now are much more pleasant to watch.

This show is the WORST

I've seen a lot of Reality TV shows, but this one is really one of the worst. Horrible corny acting, boring set pieces and 'faked' auctions to realise the money on these houses, means the whole thing is just on-the-nose.

We all know that these shows need drama to work: and as there is so little real drama between the couples doing the house renos, they have to create set pieces for the participants to badly act their way through. Frankly, it's embarrassing. They clearly don't believe it, and neither do we. Every set piece is worked up, and quite boring to have to sit through.

Once the renovations are finally done, it's time to sell the houses. A faked auction is setup, with more set piece drama to match. The participants are all acting, as the actual sale has been completed well beforehand, so the entire auction is a bit of silly looking theatre.

It's disappointing that anyone would believe these sales are even close to reality, but then, we're used to this now aren't we. But that doesn't mean the quality of the show should be accepted as is. In REALITY, It's really a snooze-fest from start to finish. Don't waste your time.

Episode inconsistencies and horrible editing

I've noticed this on several episodes. The house that they buy is not the one that they remodel. And then when they're going over the history of it at the end then it shows a third house. Who is in charge of editing this show? Watch season 11 episode 11 to see an example of this

Just another scripted and fake "reality TV show" that is completely uninspiring and uninteresting. Do yourself a favor and don't waste 60 minutes of your life on it.
