Diana Bright is a prisoner in her marriage. The short film adaptation of Honor the Father, originally a concept album by South Carolina band The Restoration, follows Diana through a reminiscence of her relationship with Roman Bright and his transformation from an insecure youth to a domineering husband. United by a mutual longing for spiritual enlightenment and escape from the modernizing world of the 1940s South, Roman and Diana's diverging literalistic interpretations of the Bible eventually trap Diana in an abusive household theocracy. Sequestered in their isolated forest cottage, Roman defends his rule with scripture as Diana grasps for a means to regain control of her life and the future of their children. Written by
