The Last Ship: Lockdown
30 July 2014 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

What kind of horror is the crew stumbling into this week? Mad Dr Scott is tossing monkey carcasses over the side – hoping not to be seen – but she is spotted by 'the watch.' Uh – oh. Once she is detected, rumors fly and the crew assumes the worst. Oh woe-is-me, these perpetrations of simian slaughter hints at some kind of inception of a more dastardly and evil plot. Is she bad or is she good? Will she stay or will she go? I don't know. Will 'sweepers' be replaced by 'bleeders'? Will the mess decks replace ham sandwiches with hand sandwiches? Or is this all in the enlisted-crew's heads? You will just have to watch to find out. One thing is for sure, on-board the Nathan James, it is time for the CO to step up and come clean. And he does. Captain Chandler finally musters all important crew members on the missile deck (leaving only red-shirts to drive the boat) and spills his guts. This action ends up making me happy, making the crew happy and making the fish happy. Sadly…the dead monkeys are not happy – well – you see – they happen to be dead and can't be happy. Another good show sets sail and surprisingly, did not need to blow anything up to get my high marks. Improvements are everywhere on this show.
