The British flag is inconsistently shown. In 1776, it consisted of the cross of St George (red cross) over the cross of St Andrew (a white saltire) on a blue field. In 1801, a red saltire (the cross of St Patrick) was added. Usually, the correct flag for the time is shown but on occasion the British flag of 1801 is displayed, even though it didn't exist at the time of the American Revolution. See more »
