Did You Know?

Danny Desai: She knows. I told her. How I took the jump rope, how I took the blame. When you're a kid, you get it. You understand this man, your father explains it to you. And he's just an amazing man. And you love him, and you look up to him.
Vikram Desai: I am back now, son.
Danny Desai: No.
Vikram Desai: We can go away. Together. We'll disappear, start our lives over. And you want that for him, right, Jo?
Danny Desai: No! No. Don't you talk to her! I'm not running away, I've been hiding for five years behind a LIE! And when I got out of juvie and you were ...

User Reviews

Twisted returns with a vengeance, which hopefully doesn't taper off.

Let me first say, for most of the episode, you'll have to deal with Jo whining. For, as the new intro shows, she is the top priority of the show and her emotions matter the most. But, considering Danny is more interesting, Rico is more likable, and Lacey is much cuter, I can't not put my finger on why Jo is so heavily focused on. Hmmmmm.

Topic 1: But What about My Feelings?

Until nearly the end of the episode, anytime you see Jo she is going on about how Danny lied, broke her heart, and then she talks about how sleeping with Tyler was a mistake. But, considering this whole issue with Danny seemingly comes from a broken heart, I really found myself more sorry for Rico than her. After all, Rico and Jo just seemed so cute together and when you compare how Jo looked at Danny, to how Rico looks at Jo, I just feel like a good portion of Jo wanting Danny was lust, hence the sex dream. Meanwhile Rico, if he had the ability, seems like he would write sonnets about Jo without it even sounding the least bit sexual. But, like Jo, with his heartbroken he distances himself from which love can only be unrequited.

But, unfortunately, it seems love triangles exist amongst the adults as well. Now, we already know Tess and Vikram used to mess around, and may possibly still do, but we also learned Karen was messing around with Vikram's right hand man Jack. And with all this, you begin to see a lot of parallels when it comes to the characters. With Vikram, he had a Jo and Lacey situation himself. But, seemingly, in his situation he picked Jo, which probably led to multiple affairs with his Lacey, among others.

Topic 2: The Murder Investigation

As we saw in the mid-season finale, Danny bolted when the cops came, and after Jo decides to call her mom when Danny shows up in her room, good old Rico lets him stay, in what I assume is, a guest house, or a room over their garage. I knew I liked Rico for a reason. Anyway, as Danny is on the run, Kyle is looking into the murder weapon Marilyn discovered, while tracking Vikram's account. Now, despite Marilyn seeming like she was independently found by the mayor, seemingly she is under Vikram's payroll and has $100,000 to show for it.

Leading to the question: How deep is Vikram in when it comes to this town? He has enough money to pay off the mayor and to get a woman, who he used to work with seemingly, to plant a murder weapon on his son? I mean, I've watched a handful of mystery shows in my lifetime, but I am beginning to think there are way too many connections to make, which are only vaguely making sense.

Topic 3: Secrets Revealed

Leading to Twisted having its big reveal which, like many of the reveals on the show, fans have already pretty much guessed. 1. Vikram killed his sister and framed Danny and 2. Vikram killed Regina. Now, the reason why for the first death is still not clear, though I assume it was because Tara was going to tell Karen about Vikram's affair, but more than likely death no. 2 came from Regina learning about death no. 1. Of course though, being that with this big reveal they had to come up with a new big secret, Vikram ends up dying. However, with Jo recording a murder confession from Vikram, at least Danny won't have to deal with the first two murders but, as for his father, well you can't win them all.

Either way, with details about what Vikram has done to think faking his death being needed; understanding how deep his secrets go; and also us learning about what will happen to Danny from here; there is a nice amount of stuff for the rest of the season to get into. I can't say it is on the level with what we were first presented with, but with a whole new writing team on the show, maybe they can keep this momentum? Or, at the very least, try not to drown us with Jo.
