Not horrifically bad but not good either
rehabdoc9 July 2016
Saw this on Amazon prime because it was free and had a 7.2 on IMDb (with 28 votes) and setup seemed like it might be OK. Regular shmoe comic owner in small town meets web cam girl. Made on a tiny budget, a nice Indy change of pace, maybe? Thought perhaps it could turn out to be a gem like a low rent Chasing Amy or Swingers?

But no, this was amateurish stuff. Other than the high resolution on the filming, this was purely made for web kind of stuff. Forget about Chasing Amy or Swingers. It's well below anything you will ever see in a movie theater. Worse than anything you'll see on cable TV actually. Acting is a little better than Cinemax porn, and writing is about the level of bad made for Syfy channel movie.

Whew...

Warning: Spoilers
You know it's bad when the director says the house was "packed" and only 150 tickets sold. Not sure where they came up with their $15k total haul. And two out of the three reviewers were in the movie? That just has "don't watch me, I'm horrible" written all over it!

I have to make up stuff here to reach the 10 line minimum for submission...this will take more work than LaCance put into the movie. If you want to be an actress...try acting school. Some directors start out there also, lol since you can't really direct what you personally cannot do.

Not quite there yet and apparently IMDb doesn't like the word "lol". Just think what you could have done by not making this movie...saved around ten grand!

A Testament to Independent Filmmaking

It was quite astonishing to see all the production value invested it within the limitations of a small budget. It is a simple story told really well. The lead characters may be dealing with all the problems that young people have in this disconnected society but they retain the important values of a hard work ethic and compassion for those who are often looked down on as losers. The acting was almost uniformly fine. Mr. Stiles imbues the character of the repressed husband with all the right tics while not making him a caricature. The screenplay had many nuggets of fine writing and dialog on the way to the twist ending. The leads who played Tim and Carrie, really brought their characters alive.

Good flick and worth seeing

Being one of the main characters in Web girl makes myself a bit biased in my review of this movie. That being said I was more than proud and happily surprised by the outcome of the total project. The crew of people behind the camera and in front of the camera were a pleasure to work with and their dedication was nothing more than absolute professional in all aspects. This project was 10 straight days of filming a 1 hour and 30 minute movie which any film maker can attest is no small feat. 10 days to get all those moving parts on the same page and complete the project almost unheard of. I found the acting to be very good and believable amongst the entire cast and I found the story to be a funny romantic journey of two people finding love when opposing forces tries to keep them apart. I rooted for Jack to get the girl and live happily ever after and for Stanley Good to get what's coming to him. whether or not they did is a question I can't answer because you should find out for yourself. Good flick and worth seeing and that's my opinion.

Very Pleased

We premiered the film at Railroad Square Cinema in Waterville, Maine on August 28, 2013. The place was packed! This was the first time for me seeing the completed film. I was amazing right when the film started. Josh Meader did an amazing job with all the visual effects, and editing. I think he did like 10 different jobs on this.

Jason L was amazing with the music soundtrack. I couldn't have been more happier. He surpassed my expectations.

I joy of the screening was sitting next to my mom and dad. I remember when i was 13 I dreamed of this day and here it was.

I think everyone will enjoy Webgirl and can relate to the situations. I great spin on Romantic Comedy.
