Annual Holiday Feel-good moment....
anna_s_6852111 March 2014
Warning: Spoilers
For the last several seasons, NCIS has made an effort to come up with a normal yet special episode to be shown at some point in December. Homesick was another heart-tugging moment.

The case part of the episode centers around sick children and any fan of the show knows what happens with Gibbs when a child is the case focus. It was extra nice this time to have others on the team have a personal stake in it as well as both Ellie & Tim had friends who were affected. An expected yet pleasant addition was the guest role by PP's (Abby's)BFF to assist.

The secondary plot in this episode gave us a chance to Leon Vance and family coping with the first holiday season without Jackie. The appearance of Jackie's father gave us the personal drama/angst quotient. All ended happily though in true DiNozzo 'It's a Wonderful Life' sentiment.

This year's holiday episode definitely had a different feel to it though. That's gotta be due to the addition of Ellie to the team. Liking her quirks - the food thing & loving the idea that she isn't afraid to sit on the floor or the desk if the situation calls for it. This character is HUMAN and that's a good thing for this show.

Sickeningly sweet and boring

Warning: Spoilers
This was the worst NCIS episode I've seen. The lame plot revolved around a mystery disease outbreak that, somehow, NCIS ended up leading the research for. Add in the Jimmy Palmer adoption story line and Leon's Father-in-Law arrival and this turned in to an extremely transparent and juvenile attempt at a feel-good story.

The Ziva story line dragged on too long and I was hopeful that the elimination of Ziva and the addition of Ellie Bishop this season would provide some new and interesting subplots but, other than Ellie's introduction in "Gut Check", I haven't seen anything interesting.

Have they finally run out of entertaining stories for NCIS? After sitting through this I'm not sure I can watch NCIS again.

New agent

I know that Ziva is gone, and she would be hard to replace. But Bishop was a really bad choice. With Gibbs and crew it's always been about protocol. This Bishop character sits on the floor, sits on the desk like some 14 year old. She walks, then stops, thinks a minute and yes she has it all figured out. I don't think she even carries a weapon except her lap top. She acts rather childish, and Gibbs puts up with it. I hate to say this but with Ziva gone the story line have been soft. With all the new shows on, there are a lot more to watch along the lines of NCIS. I don't know, maybe its just me, but I sadly feel that NCIS is not going to be #1.

I'm sorry but the new agent character is very boring an seems like she is the brains an not the team like its suppose to.be ..I sure hope you have something better ahead because this is my favorite show an right.now it is not good with this.character on it at all!....stick with what made the show writers or you will be killing this.show...I agree with person before me her sitting in floor an on desk is childish..nothing personal against the actresses ...she just does not fit in this.show or at least the character she.plays...you need someone who can bring out Dinozzo best craziness...I sure hope you guys are still looking for that spark That the two previous women had in them..or stall until you can talk cote into coming back if possible!...Thank you for reading.

Ridiculous!
sjellis-8811718 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
From the time a picture of an isolated culture of Gram negative cocci in clusters that was then misidentified as Strep pneumonia (which is Gram positive diplococci), to Ducky talking as if mold spores can become Strep pneumonia (not possible at all, as one is a bacterium and the other is a mold), the organism being identified (mis-) by NCIS in a lab with no apparent incubators or media, and finally being identified as Meningococcus A solely on it being brought in from Africa (we have it in the USA), this episode was oh so bad! Even if one isn't a Microbiologist or physician, this episode tried to hard to be sentimental and significant.
