Abandoned in the dark 2014

Kane Hodder stars in this anthology film comprised of 4 short horror/suspense stories seamlessly connected to one another through gripping real life conflict and extreme tension.

Frist story is about man who knows his boss is going to fire some of his Co workers , which he had to sign, which annoys the one that are fried.

After that story get a bit predicable and the girl can not act at all.

Then second story about single father and his daughter,who is sick hospital and he will do anything to make her better

This one was hada little twist, made it bit confused at the end

The third story is about girl who on a Help line for depressed people and then she getting to one until it get bit darker with his tone there twist but it really predicable

Four is about wife who angry at her husband for talking to another girl from previous story and they get home to find his wife as be lying to him

it really low budget, which dose show at time , it nice and little different compared to recent one as there no ghost, demons , zombie and no gore want so ever

Its an anthology of suspense...type stories. Maybe similar to the old twilight zone. Four stories actually. They are clever shorts and don't linger any longer than they should. Fairly original too, not a rehash of the monkey's paw or something corny like that. Unfortunately they are all too predictable, with no surprising twists. The author loosely tied the stories together in pairs. For example, the protagonist from the first story shares an elevator, and a short conversation with the protagonist from the 2nd story, but that is as closely related as each story gets.

I enjoyed each story. They are, as the title suggests: Dark, and good does not always prevail in the dark. However, there is a lesson to be learned there somewhere, as clearly all the protagonists chose their own paths. These stories make you, the viewer ask: what would you have done in the same situation. That is what makes this movie a watchable flick.

The primary actors hold their own. The supporting actors are theater grade at best. The scenes, sets, and lighting all seem appropriate for the stories and not hampered by budget. I watched it to the end and have no regrets.

Beware the planted reviews.

Don't believe the fake reviews planted here. This movie is nowhere near the top of the ratings bar. And it sure as hell does not resemble CREEPSHOW. The lengths people will go to in order to get their film undeserved recognition is amazing. If your film is good, it will be seen and get the good reviews that it deserves, without the need to plant fake reviews hyping it up. A tale-tell sign that a movie is worthless is to come right here on IMDb and see if it has planted reviews. And don't worry, they are easy to pick out. The users' join dates correspond with the movie's release date and it will be their only review. Not to mention they will overly praise a film you have never heard of.

Now that that is out of the way, let me just reiterate basically the same thing I wrote in the paragraph above. This movie is not very good. Kane Hodder couldn't save it with his tiny role. There is no suspense whatsoever and it definitely did not "keep you thinking." I don't know what the hell Cover 3 is, but if this is their best production so far, then I feel sorry for them. The acting was somewhere between bad and awful. Don't fall for the hype. This movie's a turd.

This was horrible. Bad acting, bad writing, no suspense, just bad. I should have known after the first 5 minutes (of bad acting and bad writing) to turn it off. But no, I kept watching, out of curiosity, maybe it'll get better, I thought. But sadly it did not. I am a big horror fan, but not so much a fan of gratuitous blood and gore. I prefer suspense and good plot/character development over cheap gross out scenes. This movie had no gore whatsoever, if anyone is concerned with that. Sadly it had no suspense, writing or acting skills either! The description says they are 4 stories all connected. I don't see how, unless I missed something. The first 2 are connected, and the last 2 are connected. But the last 2 don't seem to connect to the first 2 at all. Wow, why do reviews have to be 10 lines of text? I can't possible say any more about how bad this movie is. Oy. I think the 2 other reviewers who gave this 9/10 and 10/10 stars must be related to the producer or something. This absolutely was not worth anywhere near 9 stars. Don't waste your time watching this.

Very stilted acting in this. I guessed all of the stories endings, it was quite easy. I am sure the book must be better.

I am a big enthusiast of horror films. While this movie does not have any gore or crazy ghosts(which I don't care for anyway) like most horror films these days it has plenty of suspense and things to keep you thinking. If I had to say it resembled a movie it would be Creepshow. A few stories in one had enough everyday things that could happen to you go on. This is by far the best production and film quality so far for Cover 3. The script was well written and refreshing. The acting was solid. The production was tight and seamless. I would like to see this film on Netflix down the road so more people could enjoy it. It was by far better than half the content on netflix now. I look forward to the next film . ************** " Go with the gin it lasts longer "

Review of Abanoned in the Dark

Abandoned in the Dark is in the tradition of the old thriller and horror masters, who kept you on the edge of your seat or covering your eyes. No need for blood, gore and guts when suspense and surprise rule the day. A well written and produced movie that effectively utilized north west NJ for the setting of the stories. The acting was great and not having a lengthy list of Hollywood celebrities added to the realism of the characters. The character carryover to each story added a unique linkage feature that expanded the mind set of each person as their life unraveled. The story line, adapted from Dave's book, underscores how life's perceptions and choices to do good result in unavoidable difficulties.
