Channel 34 ruined this episode with their problems in the sound department. Ironically, it was during the punch lines that the worst was recorded. The sound would just go out instantaneously. This was ridiculous and really spoiled the show.
Thelma Katz, Rhea Perlman, stole the opening segment by providing 2 back-up birthday cakes for Arlo. She knows that Kirstie has no cooking skills whatsoever and would ruin the cake, and then destroy a bought cake in frustration over her failure.
Kirstie tried to get a record deal for her son after his karaoke appearance. She was soon brought down to earth with that idea. The son has talent, but you need more than that in the music business.
