Ambitious but failed Adult vignettes by Kayden Kross
27 February 2017 | by (New York, New York) – See all my reviews

The popular Adult star with the distinctively jutting nipples, Ms. Kayden Kross, has directed several videos in recent years, with "Girl Squared" perhaps her most ambitious & personal yet. Unfortunately, her work in the five segments here is uneven and disappointing overall.

As the title implies this is Lesbian territory, with some of the most talented players on the scene rounded up to perform in Romantic scenes from the tortured section of L'amour fou territory. The best one stars Sam Ryan in her brunette phase, lonely and forsaken in a series of flashbacks which mirrors in Adult Cinema terms the purple prose of an unrequited love short story. Ryan's acting ability raises the level of rather turgid material, though I give auteur Kross credit for avoiding the campiness of the current Lesbian cinema as executed by Gamma, Girlfriends, Sweetheart and Filly labels.

More conventional is a marriage sequence in which Bree Daniels and Raven Rockette easily please their fans in pantomime Sapphic sex action.

Kayden's own segment as actress pairs her with Bree in a rather morose sequence that pretty much sums up the downbeat nature of the show. Perhaps it's meant as an antidote to the Utopian porn of so much Lezbo Cinema, portraying beautiful women pawing each other in luxurious surroundings as if inhabiting a world in which men and other troubles no longer existed, but for me "Girl Squared" was a downer.
