- As Peter (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) and Jared (Breckin Meyer) try to recover an archeologist's valuable - and cursed - Egyptian artifact, new partner Ellen Swatello (Rhea Seehorn) fights a day care center that's seeking to shut down her client's marijuana dispensary.—Anonymous
- Open with Franklin and Bash winning a case in their typical circus-like style.
Back at the firm we see that Swatello is now a partner. Infeld shows up in handcuffs and says he was an accomplice in the Rachel King case. In the meantime he tells Franklin and Bash they are in charge.
FOUR MONTHS LATER
We learn the firm has lost eleven senior partners, along with their clients. Infeld has been disbarred and the firm now has a plastic surgeon as a tenant. Swatello says she's staying basically because she has no other options.
Mason Trolley, an archeologist, meets with the guys. He is a few days late on his storage unit payments and the owner says he's taking out a lien. Inside the unit is an artifact of incredible value ("to some") and he wants the guys to represent him in court.
Franklin and Bash go see Infeld, who is working as a mechanic. They want him back, and say they had the judge re-open his disciplinary hearing based on new evidence they're hoping to find.
Franklin and Bash meet Trolley, who they learn is actually a full-time telemarketer. He never got his doctorate. He says the item in his storage unit is the death mask of a First Dynasty pharaoh.
Bash asks Mundy, their new investigator, to search the firm's computers for something on Infeld near the time of his arrest.
Franklin brings a man named The Bone to Swatello. He runs a marijuana dispensary and he's being shut down because a couple named the Lisks are opening a daycare out of their home. That would mean he'd be too close to a school-like operation. Swatello isn't interested in defending a dispensary against a daycare center, but Franklin says it's an order.
Franklin and Bash arrive in court and see that Karp, now a senior partner at a large firm, is defending the storage facility. They are given a one day continuance, using new counsel as the excuse.
Afterwards Trolly tell the guys that based on the bracelet he was wearing the owner of the facility, Gleason, is connected to a rival archeologist named Ziff. He thinks Ziff is bribing Gleason to get into the locker in an attempt to get tenure.
Swatello and The Bone meet with the Lisks. During the meeting Mr. Lisk seems aggressively interested in shutting The Bone down and references specific laws.
Franklin and Bash go to Ziff's university and speak with the professor. Ziff tells them the death mask is a myth and tells the guys Troll is unstable and can't be trusted. He denies the connection to the storage unit and Gleason.
Mundy tells the guys that Rachel King planted a virus on Infeld's computer and she may have been working with somebody else in the firm.
Swatello tells Franklin about Jeff Lisk referencing penal code and thinks he might have a criminal record.
In court the guys try to argue Trolly lacked the mental capacity to enter into the contract with Gleason. The judge says he'll allow the argument. Afterwards Trolly tells the guys he's humiliated. He thought they believed in him and his feelings are hurt.
Swatello confronts the Lisks about the fact her wife was convicted of selling drugs to an undercover officer. It turns out the Lisks grow their own marijuana and the daycare ploy was just a way to get rid of The Bone and take over business in the area. Swatello and The Bone appear to have won.
Franklin and Bash call Ziff to the stand as a witness to Trolly's mental faculty. Ziff's take is suddenly radically different and he tells the judge Trolly is perfectly sane.
In court the guys succeed in getting a word Trolly thinks is connected to a curse read over and over. It makes their client appear less-than-sane.
Mundy brings the guys video of Karp reading depositions. It seems to prove that King got Karp drunk in order to use his computer to send Infeld the virus.
Infeld tells the guys Karp is innocent. The night in question King and Karp were in his office together. Infeld's worried about incriminating Karp, regardless of whether or not he returns to the firm.
Before opening the storage unit Mundy tells the guys that instead of writing them a check for their services, he can split the value of the artifact. Bash takes Franklin aside and says he thinks they should do it. Franklin talks him out it. Inside the locker is a box containing a golden mask inside. It also contains evidence that a similar mask recently sold for $3 million.
Swatello finds The Bone smoking weed with the Lisks in her office. The Lisks are going to go legit.
Franklin and Bash meet with a new associate candidate named Haskins. She has better offers, but wants to work with the guys because she'll get in the courtroom faster. They agree.
