Excellent and heartbreaking

Spoilers! For me this was probably the finest episode yet, closely surpassing Le Grand Guignol. Both episodes revealed of the history of the original siblings as children and allowed the viewer to more fully understand how they became so dysfunctional. The siblings roles and motivations were cemented as children by the brutality of Mikael and its resulting family dynamic. My heart broke for Klaus who was horribly abused as a boy. This does not excuse his dreadful acts but does let us understand how he became the monster he is. Rebekah stated it clearly; they are the strongest creatures yet damaged beyond repair. I am sad to see Rebekah depart the show and hope that we will be seeing her in a guest appearance.
