This is because of lack of evidence. Alexis, who has followed this case a while, has determined the man isn't guilty and gets help from her father to do all they can as private citizens to solve the case and turn innocent Frank to his freedom. Alexis's connection to Frank Henson
5 November 2013 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

The previous reviewer "Oddvar Elgvin" wanted to know the connection between Alexis and the prisoner Frank Henson. Alexis got involved when his girlfriend went to her professor who is part of a "Innocence Group" who helps prisoners who are innocent get new cases. That is how she became involved with him. She did tell that to Castle during the car ride, but it would have been easy to miss.

The episode was really good and I would give it a 9/10 only because it is unbelievable that Castle could really get involved in the case, but being he is Alexis's dad it does make sense from a TV stand-point, but not a real life standpoint.
