Did You Know?

Kate Beckett: [Castle has to cancel their weekend plans] No, come on, I get it.
Richard Castle: It will only be for a couple of days, 'cause that's pretty much all the time there is left. And it's a chance for Alexis and me to reconnect.
Kate Beckett: Castle, you don't have to explain. We can look at venues another day.
Richard Castle: You sure you're all right with this?
Kate Beckett: Yes. I mean, she's practically family. I care about her, too.
Richard Castle: You're pretty great, you know that?
Kate Beckett: Yeah. Now go spend some time with your daughter.

Something I've Missed?
5 November 2013 | by (Arendal, Norway) – See all my reviews

There was something that bugged me while watching this episode. And it kind of ruined it for me. That is why the 7/10 is there.

First of, the plot. A man is guilty for having killed a girl in the neighbor-house 15 years ago. Today, because of lack of evidence against the fact that he killed her, he has three days left before he gets killed. Alexis knows this guy well and wants to help him out in his last days by finding the "real killer".

What bugs me is that we never get to know what Alexis has to do with this case. We see her in the court-room in the beginning and we understand that she knows the guilty man and wants to help him. Where exactly does she know him from? We never even hear anything from the past of their relationship. Is it something I've missed? Not even Castle asks her about it. He just wants to help her to bond a little better after the fight in last episode.

Except for this kind of major plot hole, the episode is fine I guess. A little stressed up, but hey, I would have been stressed to if I had to solve a case for a soon-to-be-dead man without any help from the police.
