A deceptive woman posing as a rich man's daughter
7 May 2015 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This is the story of a Mr Worthington that is about to marry. Something happens and he is found dead in the water. It comes out that the woman he was supposed to marry Cassie/Eva passed herself off as the daughter of a rich man named Mr Carnegie.

Murdoch finds out who Cassie is and is really Eva Pearce a criminal he has dealt with before so he sets up a sting to catch her for misrepresenting herself, using someone else's name and for possibly murdering Mr Worthington. Murdoch does not tell Eva they found her boyfriend's body. He arranges a fake lawyer for her to contact with the real Cassie who is playing along as Mr Worthington's sister to say they can have his inheritance but as long as Worthington is not found they have to wait 7 years.

This episode is very funny. Dr Grace is asked to play the part of a loose woman so Eva could hear that Mr Worthington had other girl friends. Mr Garland goes to the police stations and sees Dr Grace all dressed up and she does not want him to give her away in front of Eva that she is just playing a part. She kisses him to shut him up and they are long kisses which he enjoys. Crabtree gets irritated.

Dr Ogden gets a threatening letter from the man that killed her husband along with a picture of her kissing Murdoch. She feels threatened and stalked and does not tell Murdoch about this.

The end is funny too. The Cassie Chadwick that said she changed her life around and helped the cops flirts with Inspector Brackenreid who is married yet he seems to like it. Soon after, the news is that Cassie Chadwick the scammer was actually still working as a scammer while helping the police. She deceived Murdoch & Brackenreid that she got married and changed her life around. Lots of laughs in this on
