The team investigates the ritual murder of a woman. Symbols on the woman's body and the items left in her apartment seem reminiscent of The Da Vinci Code. Alexis and Pi have moved to their own apartment. Castle finds it hard to accept.

A woman was fatally stabbed with a colonial type of sword, apparently a ritual murder. She recently took a great, atypical interest in the occult, but that was just for a fund-raiser scavenger hunt organized by the professor chairman of the historical society. Security cameras recorded her being followed by an ex-con Franciscan to a church where clues abound to both mysteries, even tie in with her family's early history and lore concerning a real treasure. Beckett refers to their first suspect, a monk, as a "felonious monk". This is a reference to jazz musician Thelonius Monk. See more »

When Castle is in his office talking to his mother you can see the gadget Doyle left behind from the previous episode sitting on a stand on Castle's desk. When the camera angle changes the gadget is no longer on the stand but on the desk next to the stand. The next time the gadget comes into frame it is back on the stand. Nobody made any action to move the gadget at any time. See more »

Richard Castle: This is straight out of a slasher flick. Usually find murder victims at the end of hallways like these. I cannot believe Alexis lives here.
Martha Rodgers: Richard, Alexis and Pi have invited us to dinner. This is a big step for them, so let us not be judgmental.
Richard Castle: Fine.
Martha Rodgers: [snickers] Besides, remember that hovel you lived in in college?
Richard Castle: The only difference is I wasn't shacking up with Pi.

Castle, please met National Treasure and Indiana Jones!
29 October 2013 | by (Arendal, Norway) – See all my reviews

This was yet another good episode. But still one of the adventurous ones. Not sure how much I like that.

Alexis has ignored her father's advice, and moved in with Pi in a shared apartment. Daughter and father does not come a long too good. I guess this will be resolved soon and they will be friends, but what about this week's case?

Caskett and Espo/Ryan are hunting down the killer of a woman who seems to be crucified. But with an early National Treasure-reference, we can kind of see where this is going.

(This has nothing with the plot of the episode to do, but if you have seen National Treasure 2 where they find the hole in the mountain and Cage takes his hand in and screams to trick the others, that exact same thing happens in this episode of Castle)

Well, I liked this. No full score from me since it is way too unrealistic with hidden stone-wall passages and etc. But overall a good plot/episode.
