We take care of our own.

Another good episode showcasing another bond between another pair, this time it's Fitz and Ward. It was interesting to look more into the inner workings of big Shield. There was some weird parts though, especially with Sitwell and Simmons. That was painfully awkward.

It was great to see Fitz and Ward go on a mission together. It was good to see them bond as Fitz kept proving to Ward that he is of use in the field, winning over an angry Russian gang, using the Overkill device, and kicking a guy in the face. I liked how it led Fitz and Ward to like and trust each other even more.

Big Shield was also really interesting to see how much power they have around the world. Victoria Hand was very comic book accurate, being the hardass boss with a tactical mind. It might have seemed bland and offputting but I liked it because she was no nonsense but still likes Coulson.

Skye and Simmons' adventure bordered between interesting and awkward. While they were looking more into how much Shield compartmentalizes and sort of values lower agents less, they also gave us a really odd scene with Simmons trying to seduce and subdue Sitwell. Yeah, she's a terrible liar, but that was hard to sit through.

+ Fitz and Ward bond + Fitz in action + Big Shield and Hand - Skye, Simmons and Sitwell conundrum

Final Score: 8.4/10

The Most Dangerous Sandwich in the World
XweAponX22 November 2013
It's not really about Clearance - Clearance to know secrets. It's about trust.

After retrieving a secret message out of a S H I E L D agent's nose, the CGI Plane - Which is looking much better now - Is called back to the "Hub" - A place where all information is classified compartmentalized.

But Skye gets a little hung up outside of "Level 8" HQ. Ward and 1/2 of the Fitz-Twins (The Fitz part) get sent out on a classified op.

Too much rotten Danish fish sends Skye on a Hub-Hacking party with Jemma, and they find out that there is NO EXTRACTION plan for Ward and Fitz.

And Skye also comes across redacted docs regarding her past.

This is one mission where Ward's talents can't get them into Russia- But Fitz's can. But when they get in, nothing is as it seems. Ward saves Fitz from eating The Most Dangerous Sandwich in The World - Because Dogs would have found them by the smell of the pastrami!

The details of this Ep are not important, but what is, is that Coulson and May join Jemma and Skye in going Off-Grid to save Ward and Fitz

-Which is what S H I E L D wanted all along. So it was no Extremis threat, or Hydra laying out more underwear in secret Temples, it was just our RagTag pulling together.

Re-watch thoughts

I have a soft spot for this episode, even while admitting it's rather corny. I think giving Fitz a much needed spotlight is what won me over, his interactions with Ward, and all his actions this episode fleshed out the character and really laid down the groundwork for much of his development for later seasons, there is also that scene with Simmons and Sitwell that is pure Gold! I think my biggest issue is the lack of a good reason why the mission was executed that way, it felt like they just put it together to create tension!
