- TriviaDuring production, the title was going to be Scorch, but by the time it was shot, Ruth Negga's performance as Raina impressed the producers so much that they renamed the episode to reference her character.
- GoofsFitzsimmons discuss the fact that Lydon spends a lot of time playing Minecraft, running a rather nasty mob, not just as a pigman, but a zombie pigman. In Minecraft a "mob" is any entity other than a player that moves and acts, and a zombie pigman is a mob, but actually not a very aggressive one. Additionally, it is the only type of Pigman in the game, there is no non-zombie pigman.
- Quotes
Phil Coulson: Mr. Chan, believe it or not, this could still get worse.
Chan Ho Yin: Bend someone long enough and they break. Poor little Chan Ho Yen may have believed your lies... but not Scorch!
Melinda May: Who?
Phil Coulson: Oh, crap. They gave him a name.

Oh, crap. They gave him a name.
Agents of Shield still tries to find solid ground and it actually is starting to see it in the horizon. They still have their goofs and mishaps, but other comic book shows like Smallville and Arrow had to find their way.
I am liking the further bonding between Skye and Ward, like in their game of Battleship in the opening. That was cute and fun. It was good that they confronted Skye's loyalty to the cause and it actually had a better emotional payoff than I thought. Skye trying to find out more than herself rather than Shield, could lead to a good, eventual payoff.
The antagonists in this episode ranged from curious to crazy. Let's start with the firestarter, Chan-Ho Yin aka Scorch. The special effects for his pyrokinetics was actually impressive as it looked very much alive as well as real. The intensity of it was cool as he incinerated an evil doctor and it actually looked disturbing. Raina on the other hand was weirdly curious in powered people but she is somehow very calming as well.
It was nice to see that Centipede is coming back as it will look like it is going to be a recurring problem in the season. We also got the name of who could be running the Centipede program, the Clairvoyant. That name is related to telepathic people which is actually very intriguing as people having ESP was a falsehood somewhat established in the previous episode.
There were some flops in this episode too. First, how the hell was Ward, a highly trained international spy, so easily made by the target. I mean he was just standing there staring at him, could he have been more obvious? Another gaff is Myles hacking into city traffic lights with an mp3 file was laughably cheesy and weird.
Probably the main thing wrong with this episode was the weirdly over sexual scene Skye in lingerie and her sort of bouncing around in them. Sure, we already established that she is really attractive, but that was really unnecessary. I will say that the chemistry between Skye and Miles was very good and believable, maybe, and I'm just spit-balling here, because the two actors started dating then and until mid 2017.
+ Good fire effects + I'm liking Skye more + Centipede is back, and maybe with a telepath - Goofy moments - Unnecessary lingerie scene
Final score: 7.3/10
