At the end of the episode, Isabel reads a poem from "Coplas por la muerte de su padre" ("Stanzas about the Death of his Father"), written by Castilian poet Jorge Manrique after the death of his father Rodrigo in 1476. Manrique himself would die in battle in 1479, fighting for Isabel, only a few months before the end of the war. See more
